Fans are convinced they’ve spotted the very first GTA 6 bug in a newly released screenshot from Rockstar Games. But is it actually a visual oversight or just next-level realism?
After more than 500 days of silence, Rockstar finally emerged with a fresh look at GTA 6 on May 6, 2025. Shortly after announcing the game’s delay to next year, devs treated fans to the longest look yet at the highly anticipated open-world game.
The record-shattering second trailer revealed all-new characters, locations, and a great deal more. We even know there’s a little reference tying the game to Red Dead Redemption 2.
Alongside the trailer, Rockstar also deployed a few dozen new screenshots providing even more details. However, among these snapshots, fans believe there may actually be a look at the game’s very first bug.
Has a GTA 6 bug been found already?
The screenshot in question centers on a woman using her mobility scooter. Packed full of intricate details, we see new vehicle types on display, a litany of NPCs in the background, not to mention a reptile crawling across the foreground.
Though the standout detail appears to be a man on the left-hand side riding his bike. When zoomed all the way in, it appears his flip flops aren’t completely secured to his feet and to some fans, may even be morphing underneath the bike’s pedals.
Amusingly, No Man’s Sky creator Sean Murray even joined the conversation, asking if this was the reason behind GTA 6’s delay.
It’s entirely plausible this isn’t intended and the NPC’s footwear was indeed glitching out the moment this screenshot was captured. A few suggested it was a “bug,” claiming it “kills the immersion.”
However, what’s more likely, especially given the intense scrutiny every single new screenshot would have been under before being publicized, is that this is actually intentional. As many others were quick to respond, riding bikes with flip-flops in this way is a common practice.

“This is as real as it gets,” one fan said. “That’s crazy attention to detail,” another chimed in. Dozens more echoed the sentiment, claiming it’s “completely normal” behavior and that Rockstar has just pushed the envelope once again.
“I wear my slides under the pedals when I bike. Not a bug,” one more stressed in response to the screenshot.
Given the immense attention to detail throughout every other frame of the new GTA 6 trailer, along with the additional screenshots, we’re willing to wager it’s far from an oversight. Be it tiny bubbles in drinks or the sheer number of NPCs on screen, Rockstar is making the most of the latest hardware.
