Grand Theft Auto 6’s map is actually playable in GTA 5, but its not accessible to everyone and there are a few issues with it.
It’s been well over a year since Rockstar Games finally released the first trailer for GTA 6. In that, they confirmed that we’d be heading back to Vice City – well, a modern version anyway – as well as the wider state of Leonida.
Of course, Vice City is based on Miami, which has left fans trying to map out the rest of Leonida. Some fan projects have speculated that the map will be pretty huge – bigger than both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
While Rockstar has remained silent, leaving everyone waiting for trial two, fans have set above trying to make an early look at the map playable.
GTA 6 map is in GTA 5 with new mod
Modder Dark Space has now made it possible, thanks to the help of some additional modders too.
The map, based on some of the map projects that fans have put out, the original Vice City map, and screenshots from the trailer, is playable in GTA 5 thanks to FiveM. Though, you will have to join the YouTuber’s discord to get access.
“Playing on this map will give you a clearer scale for Vice Beach, the Venetian Islands, and Vice City,” Dark Space said.
However, with it being unofficial, the landscape is “full of speculation,” especially in the northern areas. Plus, a lot of the buildings have been imported from GTA 5, so they’ll be recognizable right away.
On top of that, one of the big issues with the map is that some textures don’t have collision effects. So, you’ll be able to drive through certain buildings like you’re using a no clip mod.

Dark Space also revealed that the map will continue to be built upon and updated so long as Rockstar and Take-Two allow them.
The GTA creators and publishers have struck down a number of fan projects over the last few months, including one that brought Liberty City to GTA 5.
