It appears as if Rockstar Games and Take-Two are doubling down on GTA 6’s release window with a sneaky new hint that a lot of fans will have missed.
When Rockstar Games finally revealed Grand Theft Auto 6 at the end of 2023, GTA fans across the globe were expecting a slew of news and updates given that they promised a 2025 release date. However, that just hasn’t been the case.
Instead, there have been fears that the long-awaited game could be delayed into 2026 due to the silence. Take-Two, Rockstar’s publishers, have downplayed those fears, saying they are “confident’ of a 2025 release.
With May on the horizon, and yet another earnings call to look forward to for possible information, fans are expectant of something to keep the 2025 release on track. However, they may have gotten a boost from an under-the-radar source ahead of that.
GTA 6 now has 2025 release window on YouTube
As of April 26, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that YouTube now displays GTA 6 as being released in 2025.
This, previously, had not been the case and the dates are typically only added when things are set in stone.
“This is interesting, it does seem like they are preparing for the inevitable,” one fan said. “This is basically confirmation that Trailer 2 has been uploaded to YT privately,” another claimed. “I think Rockstar is playing with us,” another replied.
Other fans were less convinced, suggesting that it was an update with no substance. “Cool, means nothing,” one said.
“You think Rockstar decided to contact YouTube and tell them specifically what the release date is? No, it’s a placeholder, and almost definitely generated automatically,” another argued.
