GTA insider reveals alleged GTA 4 remaster details: Platforms, frame rate, more

A Grand Theft Auto leaker may have revealed some of the finer details surrounding the long-rumored GTA 4 remaster including the available platforms and more.

Rumors surrounding a potential GTA 4 remaster have been swirling since Grovestreet Games and Rockstar Games put out the GTA Trilogy Definitive Editon last November. Already, leaks have claimed the GTA 4 remaster has been in development for some time or that it will come as part of a bundle of multiple games. Now, one leaker claims to know new info about the rumored GTA 4 remaster including the available platforms, improvements, and release window.

GTA 4 was released all the way back on April 29, 2008, so a remaster could certainly be in the cards after all that time.
The leak comes by way of Twitter user ‘RockstarG_News_’, who claims the GTA 4 remaster is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4/PS5, and PC. Additionally, they claim the remaster will run at 60 FPS, feature all-new HD textures, and contains the Episodes from Liberty City expansion included.

For those who may not know, the Episodes from Liberty City consists of two Expansion Packs released for GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and the Damned. Finally, the leaker implies that the supposed GTA 4 remaster will not include the original’s discontinued multiplayer and that the game has a release window of 2023. https://twitter.com/RockstarG_News_/status/1542262522828447745 While this is a lot of information to provide, it is also information that can likely be assumed, so readers should take the information with a grain of salt. For example, many modern remasters include previously released DLC, such as Insomniac’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 and PC.

The leaker also claims the title is simply coming during “2023” which is a very broad window for Rockstar to announce a remaster. However, with GTA 6 reportedly still years away, maybe Rockstar has indeed tasked another developer with taking on the GTA 4 remaster as it did with the GTA Trilogy.
