Rockstar Games finally unveiled the second GTA 6 trailer on May 6, 2025, confirming several new characters, places on the map and more tidbits about the story.
GTA 6 is set to take place in Leonida, a fictional version of Florida, with Vice City being a stand-in for Miami. Several other locations have been confirmed so far such as Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and the Leonida Keys.
The studio also revealed multiple screenshots on its website, with two in particular containing references to an area that is seemingly being kept under wraps for now.
GTA 6 screenshots reveal new ‘Gloriana’ state
As noted by GTABase on X, one of the screenshots contains a car with a unique license plate for a state called ‘Gloriana.’
Just like with Leonida, Gloriana is likely a stand-in for a different real-world location, with many users already convinced it’s Georgia.
This screenshot is found on Rockstar’s GTA 6 site under the “Vice City” tab, so Gloriana itself isn’t featured.
However, isn’t the only screenshot referencing Gloriana. In another image, one of the game’s protagonists, Lucia, is sitting on a motorcycle that has a Gloriana plate. Given the game’s realism, it’s not surprising for some vehicles to have plates from neighboring states.
So, will Gloriana be a location players can visit? So far, there’s no indication of that being the case. Even with a game the size of GTA 6, giving players a whole other state to explore would be a tremendous undertaking for the developers.

That said, there have been reports, with some going back as far as 2020 from reliable journalists such as Jason Schreier, who claimed VI will be “expanded with regular updates over time.”
Could Gloriana be a location coming to GTA 6 post-launch? For now it’s anyone’s guess, and Rockstar has yet to confirm the theory.
In any case, with GTA 6 scheduled to release on May 26, 2026, we’ll have plenty of time for Rockstar to slowly reveal more information, including Gloriana’s place in VI.
