When Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 was going to be delayed, GTA fans across the world were heartbroken. They’d all gotten excited to finally play the long-awaited game come the end of 2025.
However, the announcement of the delay wasn’t all bad news. It brought a new trailer, close to 100 fresh screenshots, and new character details as well, which fans have combed through for months on end now.
Just when you think they’ve found every secret and hint that Rockstar might be hiding, well, they go and find a new one. This time? It looks like female police officers will play a bigger role in the game.
GTA 6’s female police officers spotted in trailer
Female officers were introduced in Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online, but they were rare. They were typically scripted to appear around police headquarters but wouldn’t be dispatched to calls. Though select missions in GTA Online had only female police officers respond.
As pointed out by some fans, at least two female officers can be seen in the GTA 6 trailer, arresting men against a wall following a traffic stop.
“This was confirmed in the 2022 leaks,” one fan said, with others noting it’s nice to see proof. “It’s about time,” another added.
Others noted that one of the iconic posters for Grand Theft Auto 5 had a female officer arresting another woman, but their influence never went further than that. However, being used in the trailer with other bits of gameplay is a bit different.

Female police officers were also supposed to appear as early as GTA 4, however, those assets were never added. Leakers found unfinished female police models afterwards to prove this.
