Story & Gameplay details
Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror title set in a sci-fi universe underlined with time-travelling shenanigans.
You’ll play as the enigmatic Traveler, an individual employed by The Collective to confront the Orphans in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and venture back in time to rescue people who succumbed to the “Change.”
That term refers to an unknown event in the past that caused humans to mutate into Orphans, which can adapt to threats by merging to form entirely new threats. The Traveler can be seen utilizing numerous different weapons to fight the Orphans in the June 8 trailer.
Your key mission Cronos will be to retrieve long-dead persons of importance from the past by extracting their essence and bringing it forward in time.
Per the game’s Steam page, though, this process isn’t without its dangers. “The more essence you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes – increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.”
That about covers everything we know about Cronos: The New Dawn so far. As always, we’ll regularly update this article with all new information as and when it surfaces, so be sure to check back.
