Marvel Rivals’ new update has arrived, bringing various changes to heroes and some brand new Twitch Drops for players to redeem. That is unless they’re getting the 270 error code which is preventing them from accessing all that new content.
Marvel Rivals is regularly updating its gameplay, adding new heroes, skins, events, and of course fixing bugs. However, along with its ever-changing nature, there’s bound to be a few errors that pop up, like the recent issue, error code 270.
So, if you’re coming across this problem, we’ve got all you need to help fix it so you can dive back in and grab that President Loki skin.
How to fix error 270
Check the servers
The Marvel Rivals 270 error usually occurs during the start of an update, when it’s just been rolled out to the game. This is either due to an influx of players causing the server to have an issue or because the update hasn’t fully rolled out yet.
So, the first step you should take is to check the servers. You can do this by heading to our regularly updated guide.
Check internet connection
Sometimes the most obvious fixes are the best, and in this case, it’s a great place to start. We suggest checking your wifi. If you’re using a wired connection, then try switching to wireless, and vice versa.
If that doesn’t work, turn your internet off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. This will kickstart the game into letting you in.

Keep trying
It may sound silly, but many players who have faced the dreaded error code 270 have reported that forcing their way into the game has proven effective.
If you’re still not allowed in, simply keep spamming the login button, for many, it’s let them into the game eventually, and could work for you too.
Update drivers
If the above fails, then your graphics could be the primary issue around the error. The best step to take here is to head into your drivers, which will be under the brand of GPU you have, and check if they need an update.
If they do, install the update and try the game again.
Verify game files
Alternatively, if the issue isn’t with your own hardware, then it could be with the game itself. Updating Marvel Rivals can alter some of the game files, and if one is corrupt, then it’ll break your game, forcing similar errors.
So, you’ll want to verify your game files by following these steps:
- Load Steam and head to the Library tab.
- Right click Marvel Rivals.
- Select Properties.
- Click Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the files to verify.
Contact support
The final step to take, if you’re still getting the error code 270, is to contact the game’s support. At worst, they’ll be able to log the issue and get it fixed for all players, though you may have to wait for them to achieve this.
So, with that, you should be allowed back into Marvel Rivals to enjoy the new gamemode, Clone Rumble or test out all your favorite heroes, maybe you’ll find a new deadly DPS.
