It’s an ongoing joke in Overwatch 2 that Kiriko always gets skins while other characters are left in the cold, and Marvel Rivals has already found its favorite child.
As a free-to-play title, Marvel Rivals makes its money by selling the seasonal Battle Pass and character skins to players. The latter, especially, is the biggest source of income, as fans look to kit out their favorite heroes with iconic suits from the comics and movies.
But with so many playable characters on the roster, it’s no surprise that not everyone has been given the same treatment when it comes to new outfits. But while some heroes have been given a handful of skins, Spider-Man has been showered with cosmetics.
Spider-Man is becoming the Kiriko of Marvel Rivals
On March 20, the Spider-Punk 2099 suit is due to arrive, taking Peter Parker’s total number of skins up to six, more than any other character at the time of writing. He launched with the No Way Home Iron Spider suit as an optional purchase, but since then he’s been showered with more, including the outfit from Insomniac’s Spider-Man games — complete with the the now iconic white logo.
Meanwhile, other characters like Wolverine, Luna Snow, and Iron Fist have been left with just two or three, causing some fans to take issue: “6th skin and we’re not even done with one season yet btw,” said one frustrated player on X.
This has led to comparisons with Overwatch 2’s Kiriko, who has a reputation for being favored when it comes to skins. The Support has become one of the most popular picks in Blizzard’s hero shooter, so she is often treated to new cosmetics in the Battle Pass or in the store.

But while some players were disappointed to see Spider-Man getting so many skins, others understood considering the popularity of the character and how many different versions there have been over the years.
“I mean it’s Spider-man, Marvel’s golden goose. He’s probably one of the few characters who actually deserves to get that many skins considering how many variants he has,” argued one reply.
“Spiderman was always gonna get the most skins,” conceded another.
If you happen to main a hero that’s been neglected so far, don’t worry. The Season 2 update is coming April 11, bringing with it a fresh Battle Pass and a host of new skins to unlock.
