Praise be, the great President Loki has finally arrived in Marvel Rivals after appearing in the game’s Beta back in the day. But all it’s done is make it obvious that one more Loki desperately needs to make an appearance.
President Loki probably isn’t the one you’d want running a country, but he is the one you’d want on the battlefield, using his guile, pretty impressive fighting skills (who knew politicians could throw hands?), and of course his ability to duplicate. All that, combined with his brand new look that’s come straight out of the Marvel show, makes it easy to see why he’s suddenly so popular.
While he certainly looks great (when does Loki not?), there’s one more skin this character desperately needs in Marvel Rivals…Loki. No wait, sorry, Sylvie.
Two variants are better than one
If you’ve watched the Loki TV show, you’ll know what I’m talking about. If not: A. What are you doing? B. Sylvie is essentially a variant of the Loki we see in the Marvel movies. She’s still Loki, just from a different timeline. In terms of the comics, she’s partially based on the characters Lady Loki and Sylvie Lushton’s Enchantress.

Now you’re up to speed, just imagine having more variant skins in Marvel Rivals. Sure, the Frost Giant design, or All-Butcher costumes are pretty cool and work off the familiar look of the default God of Mischief, but what if the game started playing around with more variants?
By doing this, we could explore new(ish) characters without having to learn completely new skillsets. Being the same person (kind of) means the fighting style can remain, along with all the abilities. As such, creating Sylvie would act as a simple reskin, while still letting players main a different character (almost… variants are confusing, okay).

Of course, while it would be awesome to see Sylvie coming to Marvel Rivals, it would understandably be a little more work than a simple reskin. After all, her entire look is different, meaning the developers would need to create a new avatar that replicates all of Loki’s fighting mechanics.
While it’s certainly a trickier feat, it’s hard to deny just how popular a Sylvie skin would be among the playerbase. You’d be able to fight as Loki, while looking completely unique and perhaps even confusing to the poor players that don’t know who she is.
Skins are increasingly popular in Marvel Rivals, and players are often in love with any that arrive to the game or leak before an update. And I can only imagine the immense hype that would come with Sylvie’s arrival. Who knows, if it does, it could just open up the TVA floodgates for variants across the game’s roster. Now wouldn’t that be a treat?
