This simple Marvel Rivals setting makes OP tank even better

Even the smallest tweak can give you an edge in Marvel Rivals, and adjusting this simple setting makes one of the game’s most popular tanks even more dominant.

Whether you’re playing Quick Play or Competitive, you need to take any advantage you get over the enemy team in Marvel Rivals. This could be picking a meta character, or doing whatever you can to make the hero you’ve selected even better.

The Thing has emerged as one of the most popular picks after arriving in Season 1.5, becoming one of the strongest options in the Vanguard category. But if you want to take his simple but effective kit to the next level, there’s a setting hidden in the menus that you might have missed.

The Thing’s charge is insanely powerful with this simple setting

One of Ben Grimm’s most useful abilities is his Yancy Street Charge, which is twice as effective with “Hold to Dash” enabled. This skill allows him to sprint at the enemy team to knock them out of the way before pounding the ground, leaving an area where players can’t use any movement abilities for a brief time.

As default, you have to tap the E button (R1/RB) to start charging forward and hit again to stop the move and initiate the ground smash. This makes it tough to control, especially if the enemy you’re trying to immobilize is right in front of you.

There is a simple solution, though. Head into the in-game Combat settings for your mouse and keyboard or controller, select The Thing, and enable the “Hold to Dash” option.

As it says on the tin, this setting alters the Yancy Street Charge so that you have to hold the button to start the charge and release it to end it. The result is that you can pull the move off more accurately, as just a tap of the button will pound the ground in front of you instantly, without the delay of having to hit the button twice.

Especially on a controller, where the charge can be fiddly to pull off, this makes it much more intuitive. I tried it out in a handful of matches and found it extremely useful, as I could quickly smash the floor to prevent enemies on low health from dashing away before landing the final blow.

Given that The Thing thrives by getting in the face of teams and pushing them hard, it makes an already strong ability feel incredibly OP. It’s only a minor adjustment to the controls, but it makes a big difference once you get into the swing of how to use it.

It’s also the ideal counter for pesky mobile heroes like Iron Fist and Star-Lord, or even the Human Torch after he lands, so make sure you’re using it to your advantage.
