Bastion is annihilating everyone in Overwatch 2 thanks to ‘overpowered’ perk

Overwatch 2’s Bastion has become a terrifying force in the Overwatch community, annihilating his foes thanks to one overpowered perk.

Overwatch 2 Season 15 introduced a fun new mechanic in Hero Perks, a system that allows characters to level up and earn new abilities throughout a match. As the first iteration of Hero Perks, there are some characters with stronger perks and others with weaker.

One of the winners of this patch was Bastion, who was granted one of the craziest perks in the game. While Bastion was by no means a throw pick, he was always regarded as rather niche, which is why the prospect of an overpowered war machine is terrifying the community.

Bastion terrifies the community with an unlimited heal

For one of his major Hero Perks, Bastion received an ability called “Self-Repair.” A returning ability from Overwatch 1, Self-Repair allows Bastion to heal himself by pressing “E.” This ability used to heal for 90 HPS in the first game, but was also placed on a resource meter so Bastion couldn’t heal himself infinitely.

In Overwatch 2, however, Self-Repair was made stronger, as the resource meter was removed. Bastion can now heal himself for as long as his robot heart desires, and it’s making him extremely hard to kill.

A viral Reddit thread showcased this absolutely terrifying perk, showing Bastion tanking a fully charged Zarya with the help of only a humble Mercy.

“Not putting it back on a resource meter is insane,” wrote one user, mesmerized at the unkillable Bastion.

Combined with other sources of healing, Bastion’s Self-Repair is incredibly potent sustain. Winston, who only deals 70 DPS compared to Bastion’s 90 HPS, cannot even kill Bastion once he is healing.

“It’s impossible for a Winston to kill you on his own,” wrote one user.

In all seriousness, there are numerous ways to counter this ability on Bastion. Ana’s anti-heal is the most obvious way, but the DPS passive also cuts into Bastion’s healing. Plus, as Bastion is fixing himself up, he’s not able to do any damage which gives your team ample time to dive him.

Bastion’s Self-Repair is a pretty hilarious example of how chaotic Hero Perks can become. With other ridiculous perks in play, such as Tracer’s six blinks or Torb tossing his turret anywhere he desires, Overwatch has become a fresh experience again.
