BlizzardThe new Stadium mode is coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 16, but certain players can try it out early if they act fast.
The Season 15 update was a huge update for Overwatch, introducing the new Perks system and bringing back loot boxes. Season 16 is set to follow suit, bringing the new hero Freja and finally adding hero bans in Competitive after many player requests.
But arguably the biggest arrival will be Stadium, the new mode shown off at the Spotlight event that Blizzard hope will become the third core mode. Players compete in best-of-seven matches made up of bite-sized rounds, spending currency to unlock new buffs and abilities between each one.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on it, there’s an opportunity to play Stadium early, so here’s everything you need to know.
Stadium Playtest explained
To sign up for Stadium early access, you need to join the OW Discord server and complete the participation form. Those who do this will then be “considered” to be included in the closed alpha, it doesn’t guarantee that you will be selected.
It’s also worth noting that this early test is only available to Battlenet players in North America. Unfortunately, if you live in another region or you play on PlayStation or Xbox, you won’t be able to take part at this stage. You must also be over 18 years of age, so keep all that in mind before entering.
This is a chance for the devs to gain valuable feedback from the community before Stadium is rolled out officially in Season 16.
BlizzardStadium closed alpha dates
Once selected to be included in the Stadium closed alpha, the test sessions will take place between February 25 and March 11. Sessions are held on Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays between 6 PM and 9 PM PT, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try out the mode.
Outside of these days and times, the alpha will be offline and you won’t be able to access it.
