BlizzardLuka Dončić has officially joined Overwatch 2, with the NBA superstar fronting Blizzard’s new Stadium event in one of the game’s most unexpected crossovers yet.
Blizzard confirmed that Dončić will appear in promotional art alongside Cassidy, Overwatch’s iconic sharpshooter, with the campaign built around the slogan “Cowboys never die.”
Fans will be able to unlock Luka-themed rewards when Season 18 launches on August 26, including cosmetics, cowboy flair, and in-game challenges.
Dončić isn’t just a celebrity face for the collab. The Dallas Mavericks guard has reached the Top 500 in Overwatch 2 while balancing his NBA career, and his long-time passion for the game has made this crossover feel like more than a marketing stunt.
The reveal immediately lit up social media, with reactions ranging from confusion to excitement. “What the hell, sure,” one fan wrote, while others labeled the move a “massive W” for Overwatch 2.
Custom Stadium builds will also be part of the event, letting players “duel like Dončić himself” according to Blizzard’s announcement.
