Overwatch 2 mid-Season 15 update patch notes

The mid-season patch for Overwatch 2 Season 15 is set to be another huge update, bringing another major crossover and plenty of hero and Perk balancing changes.

Season 15 was a huge moment for Overwatch, bringing back loot boxes after years away and introducing the new Perks system. The latter was one of the biggest changes to the core gameplay we’d ever seen, and has totally transformed some characters.

As you’d expect though, there have been a few issues when it comes to balancing, as some Perks have become must-uses. Luckily, the mid-season update is the first opportunity to make adjustments, so here are the early patch notes detailing everything we know.

Second LE SSERAFIM crossover

After being teased during OW Spotlight, a new LE SSERAFIM crossover is coming to the game mid-season. This time, we’re getting five new skins for five different characters, all inspired by the group’s latest album, HOT.

The following five heroes are set to star:

  • Juno
  • Illari
  • D.Va
  • Mercy
  • Ashe

These cosmetics will be available from the store, as well as Blue Flame variants of the original skins that dropped at the end of 2024.

GOATs Classic Mode

The GOATs meta version of Overwatch 1 is returning for this patch’s classic mode, bringing back the most busted version of Brigitte. If you’ve ever wanted to experience OW1 at it’s lowest point (or highest point depending on who you ask), you can for a limited time starting March 25.

Widowmaker Mythic Weapon

A new rifle for Widowmaker, titled the Dame Chance, is the newest Mythic weapon being added to Overwatch 2. It can be purchased for 50 Mythic Prisms for the base version, up to a max of 80 for the fully decked-out version complete with new animations and kill effects.

Hero and Perk changes

Blizzard confirmed that they plan to use the mid-season update to balance many Perks, before replacing and adding new ones in Season 16. The perk changes, as well as general hero balance changes, are as follows:

  • Extended Wound Duration increased: .25 seconds >>> .5 seconds

Prolonged Barrier Perk

  • Now additionally increases the size of Void Barrier by 25%

Crusader’s Resolve Perk

  • Passive regen trigger rate increased: 50% >>> 75%

Shield Slam Perk

  • Cooldown reduced: 8 seconds >>> 6 seconds

Roadhog

Hog Toss Perk

  • Now also increases Pig Pen’s damage by 25%

Winston

Short Circuit Perk

  • Damage against player deployables increased: 30% >>> 50%

Wrecking Ball

Transfer Efficiency Perk

  • Ally transfer cost reduction increased: 33% >>> 50%

DPS Heroes

Bastion

Self Repair Perk

  • Now (finally) has a resource bar to keep Bastion players from sitting there and healing through ults

Cassidy

Past Noon Perk

  • Ultimate charge refund increased: 30% >>> 40%

Genji

Acrobatics Perk

  • Now also resets double jump on wall climb

Meditation Perk

  • Healing increased: 25 health per second >>> 35 health per second

Blade Twisting Perk

  • Duration after an elimination to trigger bonus damage increased: 6 seconds >>> 10 seconds
  • Bonus damage is now dealt over 1 second instead of 2

Mei

Permafrost Perk

  • No longer increases cooldown of Ice Wall

Pharah

Helix Shields Perk

  • Converted Shields increased: 75 >>> 125

Reaper

Dire Triggers Perk

  • Recovery time reduces: .9 seconds >>> .7 seconds

Soldier 76

Stim Pack Perk

  • Cast time reduced: .4 seconds >>> .15 seconds
  • Anti-heal is now cleansable

Sombra

Stack Overflow Perk

  • Range penalty reduced: 30% >>> 15%

White Hat Perk

  • Hack is now uninterruptible from damage while healing allies

Torbjorn

Deploy Turret

  • Base health reduced: 250 >>> 225

Craftsman Perk

  • Now additionally increases Deploy Turret base health by 25

Tracer

Quantum Entanglement Perk

  • Overhealth duration increased: 3.5 seconds >>> 6 seconds

Automated Healing Perk

  • Healing per shot increased: 25 >>> 30

Assault Burst Perk

  • Attack speed increased: 20% >>> 30%

Brigitte

Barrier Restoration Perk

  • After Shield Bashing, Brigitte now grants 30% movement speed for 1.5 seconds

Illari

Solar Rifle

  • Weapon recharging is no longer paused while using melee

Summer Solstice Perk

  • Now provides 30% increased attack speed while Captive Sun is active

Juno

Re-boots Perk

  • Now increases the duration of Glide Boost by 25%

Lifeweaver

Superbloom Perk

  • Damage increased: 30 >>> 40
  • Number of hits to trigger increased: 16 >>> 20
  • Window of time to land hits increased: 1.5 seconds >>> 2.5 seconds

Lifeweaving Perk

  • Blossom heal bonus increased: 20 >>> 30

Mercy

Flash Heal Perk

  • Cast time reduced: .875 seconds >>> .4 seconds

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue causing Maximilien’s Vault cards to not show a full 5 cards.
  • Fixed an issue where the Overwatch League shop was missing from the shop menu.
  • Fixed an issue causing disconnects with the replay system.
  • Fixed an issue where the loot box thumbnails might not appear.
  • Fixed an issue with the switch spawn button not working.
  • Fixed a bug where some skins were incorrectly showing they were available for purchase in the hero gallery.
  • Fixed a bug where Ana’s Bastet skin was missing from the game.

There’s plenty more still to come too, as the Season 16 update is around the corner, bringing hero bans to Competitive and the new Stadium mode inspired by Counter-Strike.
