Overwatch 2 players are disappointed with the returning skins from the original LE SSERAFIM event due to recolors and a heavy price tag.
Overwatch 2’s second LE SSERAFIM event went live alongside the game’s mid-season 15 update, giving five new heroes K-POP themed skins while also bringing back the skins featured during the first collaboration.
Unfortunately, many fans were disappointed at the return of the old LE SSERAFIM skins, as not only does the cost remain, but the returning skins are actually recolored variants of the original.
Fans are not happy with the LE SSERAFIM recolors
The original five heroes to receive LE SSERAFIM skins were Brigitte, Tracer, Sombra, D.Va, and Kiriko. These skins marked Overwatch 2’s first “musical artist” collaboration and was mostly a success with the community.
Now, Overwatch 2 is having a second collaboration with LE SSERAFIM with a new tie-in song and brand new skins for Mercy, Juno, D.Va, Ashe, and Illari. Logically, Blizzard decided to make the old skins obtainable in some form as well, but through recolored variants – something that isn’t sitting well with much of the community.
“[I] kinda wish Brig’s hair matched the style of the other gals more,” wrote one user.
“Her color scheme feels too monotonous,” agreed another. “I’d have even preferred a blonde similar to Kiri’s over the blue.”
Players who owned the original skins were also disappointed at the high price tag of the recolored skins. While they are technically new skins, many fans disagreed with charging $40 for them.
“I like the [Kiriko] one more but I don’t want to pay full price for a recolor of a skin I have,” said one player.

“The fact that none of these recolors are earnable via challenges is sad,” wrote someone else.
While the recolored skins may be a disappointment to some, fortunately, the new collab skins seem to be a hit with the community despite a muted initial reaction.
“Juno is sooo cute!” exclaimed one player on X. “I was ecstatic to see a new collab!”
The new LE SSERAFIM collab event runs until April 1, giving players under two weeks to obtain the skins they need. Players can also participate in in-game challenges to earn the “Fighter Trainee Junkrat” Legendary skin for free.
