One of Overwatch’s original beloved heroes has essentially been reworked into a dive tank with this new OW2 perk.
Season 15 of Overwatch 2 has completely changed how the game is played by adding Hero Perks – a new feature that lets players upgrade their character’s kit.
Perks are unlocked over the course of the match with some greatly buffing existing abilities while others bring back classic abilities such as Hanzo’s Scatter Arrow, Bastion’s Self-Repair, or Orisa’s barrier.
One hero in particular though is benefiting immensely from the perk system, especially for those who know how to take advantage of popular, easy-to-perform tech.

Overwatch 2 perk gives Zarya powerful surprise attack potential
For Zarya, one of the perks you can unlock is called “Jump-ups” and it’s pretty much exactly as it sounds.
The perk increases her secondary fire knockback by 75%, essentially letting her “rocket jump” even higher.
Rocket jumps are one of Overwatch’s oldest tricks and lets heroes such as Soldier 76 and Bastion use their alternate fire while jumping to send them higher and access previously unattainable high ground.
However, with Zarya, the tank’s secondary fire isn’t on a cool-down, and when combined with the “Jump-ups” perk, the results can be devastating.
One player showed this off in a clip on Watchpoint: Gibraltar. By firing a secondary fire into the air and timing a second secondary fire right as the first lands, you can get some so much air, even Michael Jordan would blush.
In the clip, a player was able to get from the ground to way above the catwalk on the third point, which surprised even them.

“Oh my God!” they exclaimed as they landed on an unsuspecting enemy Reaper.
The ability to launch oneself so high up could be quite useful in certain situations, especially when enemies aren’t expecting a Russian bodybuilder to literally fly into the air and Goomba stomp them.
Overwatch 2’s perk system has certainly breathed new life into the game and added new levels of creativity. If this is a sign of things to come, S15 could go down as one of the greatest seasons in the hero shooter’s history.
