Cresselia is one of the many Legendary Pokemon from Gen 4’s Sinnoh region, and it’s a member of the Lunar Duo along with the powerful Darkrai.
The Legendary creature has been part of Niantic’s game since 2018, and in 2024, it got its Shadow variant during the August Taken Over event. Both forms have been highly ranked in the Go Battle League, so if you’re interested in knowing how to exploit its potential, here are Cresselia’s best movesets.
Best moveset for PvP
The best moveset players can use for Cresselia in Pokemon Go’s PvP consists of Psycho Cut as a Fast Move and Grass Knot as a Charged Move.
Psycho Cut’s fast energy gain allows Cresselia to reach its Charged Move faster, so pick this attack over its other Fast Move, Confusion. As for the Charged Move, Grass Knot has a decent cost/damage balance and widens Cresselia’s coverage, so go with it.
If you can go for a second Charged Move, you can either pick Moonblast or Future Sight. The first one is a debuff nuke that can decrease your opponent’s Attack stat by 20%, while the second one allows you to fully exploit the STAB.

Cresselia’s best moveset for Raids is Confusion as a Fast Move and Future Sight as a Charged Move for 9.66 DPS and 298.1 total damage output.
Cresselia is awesome for both the Great and Ultra Leagues. However, in Raid battles, it pales in comparison to other Psychic-type Pokemon.
However, if you’re sure you want to test its strength, you can go with Confusion as your Fast Move. Even though it is way more expensive than Psycho Cut, it’s a much stronger move.
