After spending over $30,000 to open packs of Pokemon cards, FaZe Kaysan has finally pulled the $1,500 Umbreon ex card he’s been looking for.

Ever since Logan Paul began publicly collecting Pokemon cards, the TCG market has skyrocketed in popularity.

It’s caused various issues with stores keeping product in stock as well, as scalpers flock to retailers in an effort to buy everything at MSRP so they can sell at a premium.

With every Pokemon set, there’s almost always a single card that skyrockets in popularity and, by proxy, value. The Eeveelution-heavy Prismatic Evolutions set that was released back in January 2025 is no different, and its most expensive card is the $1,500 Umbreon ex special illustration rare.

Pack opening streams have taken over TikTok and Twitch, with creators like FaZe Kaysan opening thousands of dollars worth of packs on stream each day.

The streamer set off to pull the rare Umbreon ex in April 2025 and managed to open tens of thousands of dollars worth of packs without pulling a single rare card.

He bought out entire stores’ worth of Prismatic Evolutions packs over the span of a week, spending well over $30,000 to get the feeling of opening the most valuable card in the set. Kaysan shared his hauls on X, where he posted pictures of tables full of elite trainer boxes, booster bundles, and more.

Despite spending over $30,000 to buy the Prismatic Evolutions packs, Kaysan was still excited when he finally pulled the card he was after.

So excited, in fact, that he fell to the ground and broke down after pulling the card.

Fans flocked to the comments on posts to share their thoughts about his adventure, with many shocked over how little of a return he got on his investment.

“$30k for a $1.5k card? that’s not ROI, that’s religion,” one user said.

“This wasn’t about profit, this was about closure,” a third replied.

Others mentioned that instead of pulling the card, he could have bought multiple PSA 10 copies of the card. According to eBay sold listings, that would have cost him between $2,500 and $3,000 – way less than the $30,000 he spent.
