Necrozma was the cover Legendary for the Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon games, and it’s also part of Pokemon Go. Here’s how to get this mighty creature and its fused versions, Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane.
Necrozma is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon from Gen 7, connected to the fearsome Ultra Beasts. It has three forms that change its type, though in Niantic’s game requires fusing it with other Legendary creatures.
Check out how to get this scary Pokemon, as well as how to fuse it with Solgaleo and Lunala to get Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma, respectively.
How to get Necrozma in Pokemon Go
As with every other Legendary, the only way players can get Necrozma in Pokemon Go is through 5-Star raids. They’ll need to defeat it in battle and then attempt to catch it with the limited amount of Premier Balls given – the number of balls is based on your battling performance.
Thanks to the recent Raid rotations, Necrozma is currently available and will remain so until September 2, 2025, when the next Pokemon Go season will kick off, bringing a new set of Legendaries to the game.
Remember that, when challenging Necrozma, using Golden Razz Berries and landing Excellent Curveball Throws will increase your chances of catching it.
How to fuse Necrozma into Dusk Mane Necrozma
To get Dusk Mane Necrozma in Pokemon Go, players must fuse Necrozma with Solgaleo using 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy, and 30 Cosmog Candy.

Solar Fusion Energy can only be earned by completing Special Research Tasks or by defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma in 5-Star Raid battles, so you’ll have to wait until the Raid rotations bring it back.

Can Necrozma be Shiny?
Yes, Necrozma can be Shiny in Pokemon Go, as this special variation debuted at the beginning of the Go Fest 2024 event.
Shiny hunters might not find Shiny Necrozma as impressive as other Shiny Pokemon. This is because its usual black body just turns into a dark shade of indigo, making the difference barely noticeable.
Due to Shiny Solgaleo and Shiny Lunala not being available in the game yet, players who wish to get either a Shiny Dusk Mane or a Shiny Dawn Wings must get a Shiny Necrozma first. The fusions will have Necrozma’s indigo blue traits with pink Solgaleo and Lunala parts.
It’s worth noting, though, that the odds of finding a Shiny Pokemon are very low, as there’s no special technique or method to secure an encounter. The only thing trainers can do to increase their chances is to challenge as many Necrozma as they can during its time as a Raid boss.
