A new trio of in-person Pokemon Go events are on the way, as Niantic has announced the dates, locations, debuts, and other details for the 2025 Go Fest.
The Pokemon Go Fest involves physical events in specific cities that are set across multiple days, all followed by a Global event where everyone can participate despite their location.
Last year, the event took over Sendai, Madrid, and New York City and introduced Dawn Wings & Dusk Mane Necrozma to the game. This time around, it will feature three different cities and the debut of an iconic Mythical.
We’ve gathered all the information revealed so far, so diehard players can get ready for some of the biggest celebrations in the game‘s calendar.
Pokemon marked with an (*) can appear as Shiny.

Pokemon debuts
For the first time in Pokemon Go, trainers will be able to encounter the elusive Steam Pokemon, the Mythical Volcanion.

Ticket holders can complete exclusive Special Research to learn more about this impressive creature and try to catch it.
It’s worth noting that no matter how many Pokemon Go Fest 2025 Special Research stories a player acquires and completes, they will only be able to encounter Volcanion once. The rest will reward them with Volcanion Candy instead.
Additionally, while not a Pokemon debut per se, Carbink and Frigibax will finally get their Shiny versions during this year’s Go Fest.
Hawlucha, a Pokemon usually found in Mexico and nearby areas, will make a special appearance in each habitat at all in-person events, while Fan Rotom may sneak into snapshots!
Crowned Sword Zacian & Crowned Shield Zamazenta
Ticket holders for the Pokemon Go Fest 2025 in-person events will get the first chance to discover the Legendaries Zacian and Zamazenta‘s alternative forms: Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta.
To get the new formidable forms, players will have to gather very rare power sources called Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy.
This energy will be obtainable via branching Special Research first, and once the Global event hits, trainers will be able to get it after defeating Zacian and Zamazenta in 5-Star Raid battles.
