It’s been a while since the last Gigantamax Pokemon – Kingler – was added to Niantic’s game, since during February it was Hoopa Unbound who had its own celebratory day.
Now, a new enormous creature is coming to Pokemon Go, and it’s the beloved gluttonous ‘mon from the Kanto region, Snorlax.

Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day: Date & time
The Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time.
While the event is short, trainers should have enough time to challenge, defeat, and capture Gigantamax Snorlax, though they must team up with other players to successfully do so.
Gigantamax Snorlax debut
During the event, Gigantamax Snorlax will debut in 6-Star Max Battles and lucky players who challenge the big sleeper multiple times can increase their chances of finding a Shiny Gigantamax Snorlax.
Remember that this form is only temporary, so after defeating Gigantamax Snorlax, trainers will have the opportunity to try and catch a regular Snorlax with the Gigantamax ability.
DEXERTOEvent bonuses
These are the bonuses that will be active during the three hours the event lasts:
- Max Particle collection limit will be increased up to 1,600
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- x8 Max Particles from Power Spots
- x2 additional Special Trades
Additionally, these two bonuses will be active on the very same day, but from 12:00 AM until 5:00 PM local time:

Leading into the event, a Timed Research will be available to all players for free from April 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM until April 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM local time.

Trainers can access an event-exclusive Timed Research with extra tasks and rewards during the Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day for US$ 5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).
The Timed Research rewards include:

Ticket holders will be able to enjoy these bonuses, too:

- Max Particle collection limit increased to 5,600.
The Paid Timed Research will be effective only during the three hours the event lasts.
Those who want can purchase and gift tickets to their friends. However, to do so they must have achieved a Friendship level or Great Friends (or higher). The ticket will appear in the in-game shop until April 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM local time.

During the event, a Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box will be available at the Pokemon Go Web Store for US$ 4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).
