Scyther’s Hisuian evolution will return to Pokemon Go as a Raid Boss for this year’s Bug Out event. Here are its weaknesses and best counters in case you want to challenge this dual Bug/Rock creature.
Pokemon Legends Arceus introduced loads of Hisuian regional variants to the Pokedex, as well as some brand-new evolutions. One of these is Kleavor, a powerful Bug/Rock-type evolution for Kanto’s Scyther.
After that, Kleavor debuted in Pokemon Go in 2023. However, it remains a difficult catch. So, to help you get this elusive creature in the game, we’ve put together a guide with details of its weaknesses and some of the best counters you can use.
Kleavor weaknesses in Pokemon Go
Kleavor is a dual Bug/Rock-type Pokemon, which means it’s only weak against Rock, Steel, and Water-type moves, so focus on those when building your ideal team and try to give them matching movesets.
On the other hand, Scyther’s evolution is resistant to Normal and Poison attacks, so you’ll want to avoid those types of moves whenever possible.

These are some of the best counters to use against Kleavor in Pokemon Go:

We’ve included a mix of Megas, Legendaries, Shadow, and more common Pokemon in the table above, so there should be something for every trainer to use.
If you don’t have any of the creatures mentioned, go with their alternative or regular versions, or just use your best Water, Rock, or Steel-type attackers to target Kleavor’s weaknesses. Remember that they should be properly leveled up and know the matching movesets.
How to get Kleavor in Pokemon Go
The only way to get Kleavor in Pokemon Go is to first challenge and defeat it in a 3-Star Raid Battle. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be given a limited amount of Premier Balls – based on your performance – to attempt a catch.

Players will have plenty of opportunities to capture this particular Pokemon as it will return as a Raid Boss during this year’s Bug Out event from March 26, 2025, until March 30, 2025, as part of the current Might and Mastery season.

Previously, players were able to get this Pokemon as a reward for completing the Field Research Task “Win 3 raids: Pokemon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global”, but since then, it hasn’t been added to any other Research tasks from the game.
Remember that you can use Golden Razz Berries and land Excellent Curveball Throws to increase your chances of success.
How to evolve Scyther into Kleavor
Even though in the mainline Pokemon Legend Arceus Scyther evolves into Kleavor after being exposed to Black Augurite, Scyther cannot evolve into Kleavor in Pokemon Go.
This may change sometime in the future, but for now, Scyther can only evolve into Scizor and Mega Scizor, and Kleavor can only be obtained through Raid battles.
Kleavor CP in Pokemon Go
As with every Raid Boss in the game, the CP Kleavor has during a Raid battle won’t be the same once you manage to catch it after defeating it. Plus, certain types of weather can increase such CP.
Raid Boss CP | 22,106 |
CP range once captured | 1717 – 1798 |
Rain/Partly Cloudy weather CP range | 2147 – 2247 |
Kleavor max CP (Level 50) | 3557 |

Can Kleavor be Shiny?
Yes, Kleavor can be Shiny in Pokemon Go, as it debuted in the game along with its regular version back in 2023.

Shiny Kleavor can be easily spotted by trainers and Shiny hunters as its body has a forest-green hue instead of its usual light brown color.
It’s worth remembering that the odds of finding a Shiny Kleavor are pretty low since you currently can’t find it in the wild. However, players taking on Kleavor in 3-Star Raids multiple times will have higher chances to spot one – if they’re lucky enough.
