Beedrill might not be an outstanding fighter, but its Mega Evolution is a whole different story. If you want to go up against Mega Beedrill in Pokemon Go, here are its weaknesses to properly counter it in battle.
Bug-type creatures have always been cast aside, but Mega Beedrill‘s powerful Attack and Speed combination changed the story for this Pokemon, mostly when you play it as a full Poison type.
That’s why players should take the opportunity to add Mega Beedrill to their Pokedex whenever they see it being featured in Mega Raids. However, keep in mind it won’t go down without a proper fight. So, to help you be ready, here are the best counters you can use in battle.
Mega Beedrill weaknesses in Pokemon Go
As a dual Bug/Poison-type Pokemon, Mega Beedrill is weak to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock-type attacks. That means your team should focus on those four to deal super effective damage and take down this gigantic bug quickly.
However, you must be aware of its resistances. To secure your win or at least your survival, stay away from Bug, Fairy, Poison, Fighting, and Grass-type moves, as they won’t deal much damage.

It’s worth noting that, just like with all the other Mega Evolutions, you cannot catch Mega Beedrill in its Mega Evolved form. Instead, you’ll have to defeat it for a chance to catch its regular form with the Premier Balls you are given after the encounter.
Once you have have, you can stock up on Mega Energy to temporarily Mega Evolve your strongest standard Beedrill.
How to evolve Beedrill into Mega Beedrill
As mentioned above, when a trainer defeats and catches a Mega Evolved Pokemon, it returns to its regular form. This means that every time they want to trigger a Mega Evolution, they must use Mega Energy.
The first time they Mega Evolve Beedrill into Mega Beedrill, they will require 100 Mega Energy. After the first transformation is done, the energy cost will drop to 20, 10, and eventually 5.

Mega Energy
Players can gather Mega Energy by constantly defeating Mega Evolved Pokemon in Mega Raids. Additionally, they can earn some more by completing Field Research Tasks and by setting their Pokemon (in this case, Beedrill) as their Buddy and going out for a spin.
It’s worth noting that for Beedrill to be able to collect Mega Energy while walking around, it must have been Mega Evolved at least once before.
