Roblox’s Grow a Garden may be all about gardening and growing vegetables, but what’s the point in growing the biggest carrot or brightest tomato if you have nothing to do with it.
After the cooking update that saw Chef Chris P. requesting different types of food every hour, Grow a Garden made the feature a regular part of the game. Not only can you feed NPCs to access different shop levels, but feeding them cake on their birthday unlocks a special reward.
All Grow a Garden cake recipes
There are six different cake recipes we’ve uncovered in Grow a Garden, each offering a different rarity. Thankfully, you can make them with different ingredients, guaranteeing the rarity.
Note: No matter the rarity of your dish, the cook time will be six minutes.

How to make a cake
Once you have all the ingredients, you can make your cake. But, without Chris P. in the game anymore, you’ll have to acquire your own cooking kit. Luckily, Grow a Garden has made one available in the cosmetic shop.
You can get your hands on three more cooking kits by completing the Common, Rare, and Mythical Achievements in the Garden Guide.
Once you have your hands on a cooking kit, here’s how to use it:
- Open your cosmetic menu at the top of the screen, and find your cooking kit.
- Place it on your garden.
- Select your ingredients in your inventory and place them inside the pot.
- Press the big green Cook button.
Once you get your cake from the Cooking Kit, you can take the item and go feed the NPC. You can only feed them a cake once on their birthday, so try to cook the highest rarity you can.

Grow A Garden Birthdays
Grow A Garden launched birthdays in the game during the update on Saturday, September 6, when a notice appeared in the top right of the screen alerting users to Eloise’s birthday.
The exact date has changed several times since then, but GAG celebrated her birthday on Friday, September 16. It’s unknown if there will be birthdays for other NPCs in the game.
