The Sims 4 is chock to the brim with different cheats, all of which can be used regardless of whether you play on PC, PS4, PS5, or Xbox consoles. These helpful codes do it all, from helping you to boost your Sim’s career, to changing or improving skills, and even for making money fast.

In the sections below, you’ll find full rundowns of all how to enable and use all the available cheats in The Sims 4 for doing things like tweaking UI and build mode to turning Sims into Vampires, with dedicated sections for specific Expansion Packs and Game Packs.

How to enable cheats

While there are mods that can be downloaded that simplify cheats by clicking on certain UI elements, using The Sims 4’s cheat console is the method we’ll be explaining here, as this is where you’ll be entering all of the codes found in our list of cheats.

To bring it up, press the following buttons on your platform of choice:

  • PC: CTRL, Shift, and C.
  • Mac: Command, Shift, and C.
  • PS4/PS5/Xbox: Hold down all four shoulder buttons.

With that done, you’ll then need to enter ‘testingcheats true‘ or ‘testingcheats on‘ in the white box that appears and press ‘Enter’ (or the X or A button on console) before you start using other cheats, as some codes require this to work correctly.

  • If done correctly, a ‘Cheats are enabled’ message will appear.
    • To turn this off, type ‘testingcheats off’ or ‘testingcheats false’.
  • While this cheat will then be enabled for your entire save going forward, many cheats will need to be entered each time you load up the game.

The Sims 4 skill cheats

Cheats can be used to set your skills to maximum levels (or anywhere in between).

For skill cheats below, you’ll need to enter the code followed by the number of the level you want to set your Sim’s skill to. For example, if you want to raise their Baking skill to level 8, you’d enter ‘stats.set_skill_level major_baking 8‘ into the cheat console.

Some skills are known as ‘Minor’ skills, and only have five levels, whereas others are known as ‘Major’ skills have 10. We’ve specified which is which, along with the DLC that skill is part of:
