But if you’re someone who prefers taking their fighting games on the go, you’ll probably want to know if you can play Tekken 8 on the Nintendo Switch for some high-octane matches out in the wild.
For over three decades, Tekken fans have bludgeoned each other with Paul Phoenix’s powerful punches and spammed more Hwoarang kicks than they can keep track of.
The series has become a staple in the fighting genre, and is a must-play for any fan. Packed full of iconic characters who fill up Tekken 8’s current meta, its enhanced visuals and gameplay mechanics are a big improvement over its predecessors.
Tekken 8 isn’t available on the Nintendo Switch
At the time of writing, Tekken 8 is not on the Nintendo Switch, but that’s not to say it won’t arrive in the future. With the dynamics of the gaming industry always evolving, Bandai Namco has shown a willingness to adapt in the past with their previous games, including Dragon Ball FighterZ and Pokkén Tournament DX arriving on the platform.
Other fighting franchises, such as Mortal Kombat, have also waltzed their way over to the Switch, so hope is not lost for Tekken fans.

With the Switch 2 officially announced, there have been leaks and rumors about Tekken 8 landing on the upcoming handheld. The leak comes from a list of third-party publishers from French retailer Fnac, which was discovered by a Reddit user.
X (formerly Twitter) user Bouboune0 then compared the lists’ EANs (European Article Numbers) to existing products and deduced that Tekken 8 was among the list of games, alongside Red Dead Redemption 2 and FIFA.

The fact that the identified EANs are so similar, and Bandai Namco has a history of releasing fighting games for Switch does bode well, but it’s important to take the rumor with a pinch of salt until anything is officially confirmed.
