Alien: Earth Episode 8 just ended on a massive cliffhanger, but if you’re looking forward to seeing what happens next in Episode 9, prepare to be disappointed. Spoilers to follow…
In the closing minutes of Episode 8, the hybrids have control over (almost) everyone. Kirsh, Morrow, Dame Sylvia, and Boy Kavalier are locked in a cell together, and Wendy’s pet Xenomorph is still alive. Little do they know, the ‘eye midge’ (T. Ocellus) has slipped into Arthur’s corpse on the beach.
So, what happens next? Well, we know Yutani is already en route to the island, which has been cut off from the rest of the world. How will she feel about Wendy – and, more excitingly, could the show become Alien’s Andor as the timeline approaches the launch of the Nostromo?
The show still has a lot of questions to answer, too, but we’ll be waiting a while before we find out any other answers.
Is there an Alien: Earth Episode 9?

No, there won’t be an Alien: Earth Episode 9. The first season wrapped up with its finale in Episode 8, and Season 2 still hasn’t been confirmed by FX.
However, talks about renewing the series are happening, and given its acclaim and strong viewership, an announcement could be imminent.
“We’re certainly having conversations about it, and I’ve been thinking on the creative front,” Noah Hawley told EW.
“It was very encouraging, the success of the show globally, and FX is very deliberate in their process. I think that’s why they’ve been so successful, is they don’t spend more than the show can realize in its return value.

“Part of it is not just, ‘Are we gonna make more?’ but, ‘Are we gonna make more at what price and what’s the timeline for it?’ So all those factors are being discussed, but I don’t have a timeline for you.”
As for how much the events of Alien could play into the series in the future, Hawley teased: “I said early on you can make me care about timelines and mythology, but it’s not my natural instinct to care about them passionately.
“What I tend to do is figure out the story I want to tell and then check and see how this would fit into the larger story.
“I’m still living very much within the world that I’ve created and with a green light for a Season 2, I think I would dive in a little more probably to look at… what’s the big picture of the show? How does it fit into the big picture of the films? What are the things that we’re stuck with in terms of landmarks and dates and those sorts of things?”
