Black Rabbit is a new Netflix crime thriller that stars Jude Law and Jason Bateman as brothers whose lives spin out of control over the course of the series – here’s how their story ends, plus if it sets up a Season 2.
Black Rabbit stars Jude Law as Jake Friedkin, owner and proprietor of the titular restaurant, who when the series starts, is making moves to expand his business empire.
But then his brother Vince – played by Jason Bateman – rolls into town with trouble in tow, and his bad deals and even worse decisions put both their lives in danger.
The following is how that plays out in the show’s final episode, including whether they both survive the ordeal. Meaning SPOILERS ahead…
Black Rabbit ending explained

Black Rabbit begins with a robbery at the restaurant, and the series circles back to that crime at the end of the run, by which time we know that Vince is one of the thieves.
When it goes badly wrong, Vince ends up on the run and heads to The Plank, where local gangster Joe Mancuso (Troy Kotsur) finds and prepares to execute Vince as retribution for killing his son.
Vince manages to escape with the help of some bad cocaine, while Jake blackmails a fixer into sorting a plane out of the country for his brother.
The siblings then have a heart-to-heart at the Black Rabbit, during which Vince reveals hat he killed their dad, and Jake responds with “I know, I saw.”

It’s a moment that’s beautifully played by the two actors, and one that carries real emotional weight, especially when Jake tells him “It was a bad thing that happened, but you’re not a bad person.”

This revelation shows Vince that Jake will always help him no matter what he does, and equally that Vince will never stop dragging his brother down. So Vince asks Jake to put the money he stole in the safe for his daughter, and calls the cops to admit all.
Vince then kills himself by jumping off the roof of the restaurant.
Will there be a Black Rabbit Season 2?

It seems unlikely that there will be a Season 2 of Black Rabbit, as the driving force of the show was the unhealthy co-dependent relationship between Vince and Jake, and one of them is now dead. While everything else gets wrapped up pretty neatly.
We see Vince’s funeral, followed by Jake packing up his apartment to move somewhere smaller, and the Black Rabbit staff packing up the premises, which presumably closes down.
Chef Roxie (Amaka Okafor) opens up a new restaurant; one’s that named after Anna, who was tragically killed earlier in the series. While the final moments of Black Rabbit depict Jake ending up back where he began decades previous, working behind a bar.
