According to a producer on The Charlie Kirk Show, Kirk “loved” being in South Park – and that’s why the episode should stay on the air.
Kirk, a right-wing political activist, was shot and killed earlier this month. Just over a month prior, South Park featured a parody of him, with Cartman cosplaying as Kirk and performing as a “masterdebater” with college students.
Comedy Central pulled the episode (Season 27 Episode 2) from its schedule, and while it’s still not included with the other reruns on linear TV, it can be streamed on Paramount Plus. Episode 5 has also been postponed, with many fans believing the delay is to give the series more time after Kirk’s death.
However, Kirk was complimentary of his parody, and Andrew Kolvet, a friend of Kirk who also worked on his talk show, has called for the episode to be aired again.
Charlie Kirk producer wants his South Park episode back on the air

“Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park,” Kolvet wrote (to be clear, the episode is available on Paramount Plus, but it’s no longer airing on Comedy Central).
“He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.”
Kirk reacted to the episode shortly after a teaser was released online, telling Fox News Digital: “Honestly, my first reaction was that I kinda laughed.
“It’s kinda funny, and it kinda goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve. I look at this as a badge of honor.”
Kirk also said, “Conservatives need to be able to take a joke. We shouldn’t take ourselves so seriously.”

“Look, they’re professional comedians. They’re probably going to roast me, and I think that’s fine. That’s what it’s all about, being in public life and making a difference,” he added.
As per a statement from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the next episode of South Park has been pushed back because “apparently when you do everything at the last minute, sometimes you don’t get it done.”
“This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”
