Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16 has unexpected guest star you’ll definitely recognize

When it comes to wrangling epic guest stats, Chicago Med is at the top of the pile. This week, Season 10 Episode 16 introduced a famous face you’ll definitely recognize.
First coming to screens in 2015, the binge-worthy TV show makes up a triage of television: Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and of couse Chicago Med. The latter follows the doctors and nurses of the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s emergency ward, trying to save patients’ lives while dealing with their own personal issues.
Basically, this means you can safely file it away with other amazing medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy and E.R. We’re 10 seasons in now, and the twists and turns are still leaving us on the edge of our seat.
Obviously, this week has been no exception. Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16 introduced one of its many impeccable guest stars, and there’s a good reason why you think they look familiar.
Deirdre Lovejoy brings The Wire to Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16
Calling all fans of The Wire – Deirdre Lovejoy is back. Best known for playing Assistant State’s Attorney Rhonda Pearlman on the hit crime series from 2002-2008, Lovejoy has joined the Chicago Med cast as former patient of Sharon Goodwin, Angela Tucker.

As the episode synopsis reads, “When her former patient returns to Med, Goodwin learns that time doesn’t heal all wounds; Frost and Charles treat a patient struggling with his sexuality; Lenox and Abrams work to save a woman who has been in a coma for 20 years.”
We quickly learn that the past between Angela and Goodwin is a traumatic one. Angela’s daughter Josephine was involved in a car accident that killed her father and caused her brain to hemorrhage. There was a difference of opinion between the doctors about the best course of treatment, resulting in surgery that nearly took her life.

22 years later, Josephine needs risky surgery for a brain tumor, and that brings up old wounds for Goodwin and Angela. It’s good news in the end, though as the surgery goes well.
Alongside The Wire, you’ll also know Lovejoy from Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Blacklist, and Bones. Clearly she’s no stranger to a procedural, also crossing off performances in NYPD Blue, Cold Case, NCIS: New Orleans, Raising Dion, Shameless, and Orange Is The New Black.
The Wire has been voted as one of the best TV shows of all time – and as you can see, we completely agree with that.
