Daredevil: Born Again Episode 2 opens with a dedication to Kamar de los Reyes, who plays a pivotal character in the new series.
The MCU’s long-awaited Daredevil revival has finally premiered on Disney Plus, and it hasn’t pulled any punches. Episode 1 opens with some big changes: a huge death, a one-year timejump, and Wilson Fisk as the new Mayor of New York.
As Fisk gets to grips with his new political position, Matt Murdock takes on a new client accused of killing a cop by throwing him in front of a subway train – but there’s more to him than meets the eye.
That’s where Kamar de los Reyes comes in, so here’s what you should know about the actor.
Who is Kamar de los Reyes?

Kamar de los Reyes plays Hector Alaya, aka White Tiger, in Daredevil: Born Again. The star died in December 2023 after being diagnosed with cancer.
While de Los Reyes had early roles in ER, Nixon, and 1994’s acclaimed off-Broadway play Blade to the Heat, he was best known for playing Antonio Vega in One Life to Live from 1995 to 2007. He also starred in Sleepy Hollow and portrayed Coach Montes in The CW’s All American.
Notably, he played Raul Menendez in the Call of Duty franchise (specifically Black Ops 2 and 4, Vanguard, and COD: Mobile).
Last year, after the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again debuted at New York Comic Con, the late star’s wife Sherri Saum shared it on social media.
“This is awesome. This is the project @kamardelosreyes was working on when he fell ill… but he finished it and he was so proud of it. So badass… it’s bittersweet but I cannot wait to see,” she wrote.

Saum also attended Born Again’s premiere with her and de los Reyes’ children.
As for what to expect from White Tiger, Charlie Cox told Empire that his story is “so poignant for Matt Murdock and his world, because he’s having to defend someone who does what he does without revealing to the world that coincidence.”
