It’s good news for Edgewater fans – Fire Country is officially returning for Season 4. However, Bode’s still got his work cut out in Season 3, meaning there’s real issues waiting in the future.
CBS took to Instagram on February 20 to announce Season 4’s renewal, reading “It’s official: We’re running it back for a FOURTH season. And we’re only just getting started.”
Clearly, the binge-worthy TV show is in it for the long haul, but what does this mean for what we’re already seeing on screen?
We know a huge cameo is still on the way, but Fire Country Season 3 is only just starting to unpack its most shocking death – and that will have a huge impact on Bode in Season 4.
Bode has a lot to fix before Fire Country Season 4
We’ve got two current storylines that suggest Bode will have plenty of personal struggles to last him until Season 4 – finally dealing with Riley’s death with the rest of his family, and potentially having a relapse.

After Fire Country Season 3 Episode 12, Walter’s diagnosis led him to forget Riley’s death ever happened. Walter even mistook Audrey for Riley while she was at the Leone house, with the confusion escalating the tension that’s been under the surface since day one.
Now, the moment for the Leone family to confront their unresolved trauma collectively has come to the surface, and that’s going to be a long journey. Bode’s skills as a firefighter are already questionable, but reliving Riley’s death properly is sure to send him on the ultimate downward spiral.
His family drama has been ongoing, and his attempts to save Rafael with Jake certainly aren’t helping matters. Having to deal with something he’s buried for so long will likely be the push that sends him over the edge.

On top of that, he now could be facing a relapse. Season 3 Episode 13 saw Bode play the ultimate hero, but his Coach Drew presented him with pain meds that led right back to his addiction following a baseball injury. In essence, the seed has been planted, and now they’re right in his eye line.
Bode’s sobriety and his relationship with his family are things he’s fought so hard for, and the fight is about to get even bigger if addiction comes back into the mix. Regardless of what happens next, somebody is bound to get hurt, and that leads to a lot more that needs to be unpacked in Fire Country Season 4.
