It’s only September, but the spooky season is already underway with The Conjuring: Last Rites, and there’s only one streaming platform you should be keeping an eye on if you want to watch it at home.
In 2013, James Wan kicked off one of the 21st century’s most popular horror franchises with The Conjuring (which is still one of the best horror movies ever made), introducing audiences to Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga).
Over the past 12 years, their real-life counterparts’ investigations and artifacts have been turned into a highly lucrative series of films, grossing over $2.5 billion worldwide.
The Conjuring: Last Rites has been billed as the franchise’s finale, making it a must-watch horror event – but if you’re a scaredy-cat and would rather check it out at home, here’s what you need to know.
How to watch The Conjuring: Last Rites
The Conjuring: Last Rites is currently exclusively available in cinemas, having premiered on September 5, 2025.
If you cast your mind back to 2021, you may remember that The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (the third entry in the flagship series of films) was released “day and date” on HBO Max, meaning it came to cinemas at the same time.
Amazingly, it still grossed over $200 million worldwide. However, that was a one-off deal as a result of the pandemic, as it allowed audiences to see the movie if they didn’t feel comfortable going to theaters.

Where to stream The Conjuring: Last Rites

The Conjuring: Last Rites will be available on HBO Max before any other streaming platform. This is because it’s a Warner Bros title, and the studio owns HBO Max.
As for when you can stream it on HBO Max, it doesn’t have a confirmed home entertainment release date. However, we can look at the streaming timelines of other movies to get an indication of when it could drop.
A Minecraft Movie is one of the biggest movies of 2025, and it only took 77 days to come to HBO Max. However, Dune: Part Two took 81 days, and Barbie stayed away from streaming for a whopping 147 days (it became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, so that’s probably why).
So, let’s say it comes to HBO Max after 80 days – that’d put its streaming release date in late November 2025 (if you want something more specific, it should be streaming by Friday, November 28).
Also, it’s worth noting that not every movie distributed by Warner Bros comes to HBO Max. For example, Red One was produced in collaboration with Amazon MGM, so it ended up on Prime Video first. Similarly, Jason Statham’s A Working Man debuted on Amazon’s streaming service.
However, The Conjuring is owned by Warner Bros, so it’s guaranteed to land on HBO Max when the time comes.
When is The Conjuring: Last Rites on digital?

If The Conjuring: Last Rites follows other Warner Bros movies, it’ll be released on digital by mid-October 2025, in time for Halloween.
Sinners, A Minecraft Movie, and Superman all took around 35 days before you could buy or rent them digitally at home, and there’s no reason to believe the latest Conjuring movie will be any different.
