The Sidemen are back with Inside Season 2 on Netflix, with Episode 1 introducing 10 new contestants who want their hands on the £1 million prize pot – or what’s left of it by the end.
The premise is simple: for seven days, 10 celebrities eat, sleep, and live together (think the Big Brother house… but greyer) while completing challenges. If they buy anything, the money comes out of the prize fund, and if they fail any challenge, they lose even more money.
Whenever the Sidemen aren’t putting them through the wringer, they (should) have one goal: save as much money as possible and don’t give into temptation. However, not everyone feels the same way.
A lot goes down in Season 2 Episode 1, between everyone meeting each other, the first challenge, and extravagant purchases (like a jiggly ball). So, let’s get into what happened in the first episode.
Meet the contestants in Inside Season 2

As you’d expect, the first episode of Inside Season 2 begins with all of the contestants (bar two, but we’ll get to that later) arriving at the house. This is who the show starts with:
- George Clarke
- Mandi Vakili
- FaZe Jason
- Whitney Adebayo
- Cinna
- Farah
- PK Humble
- Milli Jo
- Dylan Page
- Mya Mills
As they all sit in the living area and chat about where they’re from and what sort of content they produce (for example, Dylan reports the news on TikTok, while Cinna is a Twitch streamer), the Sidemen arrive to kick off the show.
After explaining the rules (if they want anything, they need to buy it), they open the shop… and let’s just say, some of the contestants don’t hesitate to spend everyone’s money.

Pot noodles and table tennis tempt the contestants

When the shop opens, there are 15 items available. It’s all really normal stuff; soda, coffee, and table tennis bats and balls so they can entertain themselves. However, there’s a catch: they have huge price tags. This is how much everything costs:
- Table tennis bat: £1,000 ($1,298)
- Table tennis ball: £1,000 ($1,298)
- Golden straw: £2,500 ($3,245)
- Tea: £400 ($519)
- Coffee: £500 ($649)
- Cola: £500 ($649)
- Diet cola: £500 ($649)
- Fizzy orange light: £500 ($649)
- Milkshake: £1,000 ($1,298)
- Crisps: £500 ($649)
- Sweets: £1,000 ($1,298)
- Mini chocolate: £600 ($778)
- Peanut butter cup: £750 ($973)
- Ice pop: £750 ($973)
- Noodle pot: £1,000 ($1,298)
To put those prices into context, you can buy a small pack of ping pong balls on Amazon for $5 – that’s a 24,660% markup if you buy a single ball from the Inside shop. Of course, that’s why the prices are so punishing: they either live without easy distractions or give in and spend an outrageous amount of money.
As a group, they decide to buy two paddles and a table tennis ball to entertain themselves. It doesn’t take long until people want other things; Milli Jo and Mandi buy pot noodles, Whitney buys crisps and peanut butter cups, and Farah buys two cups of tea in the first episode.
When it comes to lunchtime, they’re served rice and kidney beans… with the option to upgrade for £2,000 ($2,596). It doesn’t have a big impact at lunch – but keep this in mind for later.
Mandi buys the Golden Straw

There’s one mysterious item on the first price list from the shop: the Golden Straw.
“I wanna see the straw,” Farah tells Mandi, who quickly orders it. Unsurprisingly, it’s not worth £2,000.
“I thought it’d be more than just a standard golden straw. My imagination was taking me places… I’ve been in here for a whole day, and I started thinking, ‘Is it a golden straw? Is it a massive straw? Is it so big we can walk through it like a tunnel?'” she says.
Cinna finds the golden straw in the shop and (very politely) confronts the group. It doesn’t take long until Mandi confesses. Everyone has the same question: why? They all laugh about it and agree to discuss any big purchases in the future.
The Sidemen’s first challenge in Episode 1

The first challenge in Season 2 is called Insider Dating.
“Two insiders will be paired up and seated at a table. In front of each of them is a menu. Each menu contains two questions. In order to complete the challenge, they must truthfully answer the questions,” Simon Minter explains.
“However, while doing so, a few distractions might take place. If they aren’t able to continue with the challenge, they can at any point press the red button – but, doing so will cost the team money.”
More specifically, they’ll lose £10,000 ($12,982). It starts with PK Humble and Cinna, who have to answer questions as rats crawl around their heads. PK struggles, but they both succeed.

Next up is Farrah and Jason, who get ear piercings as they ask each other questions. They squirm a bit, but they also succeed.
Dylan and Mandy are the third pairing, and they have to get a “kiss from a chicken.” In other words, two chickens are placed in front of them and they peck at meal worms around their fingers. They also succeed.
Milli Jo and Whitney go next, and they have the worst distraction: a tarantula is placed on their heads and arms. Milli Jo manages to get through her questions, but Whitney freaks out and presses the button, removing £10,000 from the prize pot.
The fifth and final pairing is George and Mya, who get hit with electric shocks as they answer the questions. They don’t seem too severe and they pull through while laughing, so the group only loses £10,000 in total.
Patrice Evra and DDG enter the house

There are two late additions to the house: former Manchester United captain Patrice Evra and DDG, a rapper and content creator.
Evra is arguably one of the most well-known people in the house – but DDG has no idea who he is when he meets him. The rest of the contestants return to the living area and meet Evra and DDG… and when DDG finds two other Americans, he makes a sneaky plan.
“We could all team up,” Cinna suggests, admitting she’d feel bad about going against the others. “No, we have to… we are a team. If it’s us, we split. Don’t steal it… we’re gonna make it to the end, don’t f**king steal,” DDG says.
PK Humble doesn’t skimp on dinner upgrades

When dinnertime comes around, it’s rice and beans again, with the option to upgrade to chicken and chips for £2,000 ($2,596).
This time, several contestants upgrade their meal – but PK Humble does it three times. He sneaks away to eat one of his extra meals, and he’s caught by Mandi and Whitney. They don’t care, and are just happy to get a few extra chips.
After they all go back to the table in the living area, Whitney finds PK’s third portion in the shop, but he doesn’t admit to buying it. “For me, this is a trap,” Patrice suggests, and they all share the meal.
Elswhere, George, Milli, Mya, and Farah buy a jiggly ball… for £4,000 ($5,193). In real life, it’d probably cost £5 ($6.50).
Prize pot after Episode 1

Near the end of the episode, the contestants are shown the remaining prize money: £964,540 ($1,252,214). That means they’ve lost £35,460 ($46,034) already.
“36 grand, why we clapping?” George asks, but some of the contestants want to treat themselves and check if the menu has changed.
As it turns out, it has – and there’s alcohol on offer. Mandi buys a glass of prosecco for £1,000 ($1,298) and an extra pillow for £5,000 ($6,491), while Whitney and PK buy two glasses of prosecco each – that’s $4,000 ($5,193). That brings the prize pot down to £953,540 ($1,237,933).
DDG tells the group they could spend a bit more money than they think each day; even if they lose $100,000 each day, that could still leave a substantial amount of money for the winner. Dylan doesn’t agree, arguing there are other ways the Sidemen could take money away from them.
This puts a target on his back, with Whitney and PK joking that they’ll vote him out – but it doesn’t seem like a joke.
