Is Bob’s Burgers leaving Hulu? Why subscribers are threatening to ‘get rid’ of streaming service

Bob’s Burgers is one of Hulu’s most popular shows, but a new warning has left fans worried – and some are even threatening to leave the streaming service. But don’t go cancelling your subscription just yet.

2025 has been an incredible year for TV. So far, we’ve had second seasons from Severance, Wednesday, Andor, and The Last of Us, as well as Squid Game Season 3, The Bear Season 3, Daredevil: Born Again, and the debut of Peacemaker Season 2.

And that’s before we get out to breakout hits like the Netflix drama Adolescence and The Pitt. And, of course, later this year Stranger Things Season 5 will finally arrive.

But sometimes, you just want an easy binge-watch to crack on with when you’re sitting down for dinner, and Bob’s Burgers fits the bill. As a Fox show, Hulu is its streaming home, but is that about to change?

Is Bob’s Burgers leaving Hulu?

No, Bob’s Burgers isn’t leaving Hulu anytime soon. The reason fans are concerned is because of a notification saying the show is “expiring” at the end of September 2025, but that doesn’t mean it’s leaving the platform.

When you see an “expiring” tag on ongoing shows like Bob’s Burgers or Family Guy, it usually means Hulu’s current license for those episodes is about to renew.

In practice, the series won’t disappear, but rather the episodes will either get re-added once the new deal window kicks in, or the library will be updated to include the next season as it begins airing.

With Bob’s Burgers Season 16 just around the corner, the likeliest outcome is that Hulu will continue to stream Seasons 1-15 of the animated show, while also adding new episodes after they debut on Fox.

We’ve seen similar warnings appear on shows such as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but they remain firmly part of Hulu’s library.

Subscribers threaten to ‘get rid’ of Hulu after false alarm

Despite this, the notification left some fans worried, with one writing on Reddit, “If Hulu gets rid of Bob’s Burgers, I’m getting rid of Hulu.”

Another agreed, “Literally the only thing keeping Hulu relevant to me,” while a third added, “One of the rare cases where I’m glad to have Canadian Disney Plus because it also has Hulu content wrapped into it since we don’t have Hulu in Canada.”

However, others jumped in to explain the situation. “Honestly I’ve seen this ‘exp’ show up on a bunch of different shows over the years and not a single one has ever disappeared afterwards, so I’d be shocked if they actually pull one of their most popular shows,” said one.

Another commented, “It seems to happen when they’re in the process of renewing with certain shows, and so it temporarily looks to us like it might expire as their contract date gets closer or something, but then once they renew it, that expiry date warning goes away.

“Just went through that scare with Bones, but it’s still there with the notice now gone! It does make it harder to know which ones are going to actually expire/disappear, though.”

“I think I’ve seen it’s one of the most watched on Hulu? So I agree with you, but it’s still alarming to see,” added a third.

When is Bob’s Burgers Season 16 out?

Not only are the existing episodes not going anywhere, but Bob’s Burgers Season 16 is about to drop. The premiere, ‘Grand Pre-Pre-Pre-Opening’, will air at 9.30pm ET/PT on Fox on September 28, 2025.

It will then be available to stream the following day on Hulu, with new episodes dropping on the same days each week. Season 16 consists of 15 episodes in total.

This is slightly less than the usual 20, but the good news is that the hit TV show isn’t going away anytime soon. Earlier this year, the network ordered four more seasons each of Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy.

In a statement, Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade said, “The longevity of this agreement reaffirms our commitment to the successful partnership we’ve built with the incredible team at Disney.

“This collaboration has and will continue to generate meaningful long-term value and strategically build audiences from FOX to Hulu to fans worldwide.”
