One of the greatest movies of all time is leaving Netflix in April 2025

No matter how much you want it to S.T.A.Y., one of the best movies ever made leaves Netflix on April 1, 2025 (along with some other great stuff).

It’s one of the perils of the streaming service boom: you have countless direct debits to all sorts of platforms, but their libraries change all the time.

Titles come and go, sometimes hopping between rival platforms, or occasionally just vanishing from streaming altogether.

Tomorrow (April 1), Netflix users should ready themselves for the departure of some amazing movies – so, if you were looking for an excuse to watch movies all night, you’ve got one.

Interstellar is about to leave Netflix

Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar officially leaves Netflix on April 1, 2025.

It arrived on the platform in January this year off the back of its record-breaking IMAX re-release, grossing nearly $40 million worldwide and taking its total box office haul to just shy of $760m.

When it originally hit cinemas, it earned a 72% score on Rotten Tomatoes (not bad by any stretch, but not on the level of Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight, or Inception). Fans may have hailed it as an instant sci-fi classic, but time has proved that claim. Now, many believe it’s Nolan’s best movie.

“I was just so gratified by the response,” Nolan told AP after the film’s renewed success.

“It’s really thrilling when people respond to your work at any point. But 10 years later, to have new audiences coming and experiencing it in the way that we’d originally intended it on the big IMAX screens and in particular on those IMAX film prints? It’s really rewarding to see that it continues to have a life.”
