When it comes to prestige US TV shows, we think of the absolute bangers that have been around for decades. Among them is NCIS, following links to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service long before any true crime binges came along.
Fast forward two decades and we’re getting stuck into its 22nd season. Our team is now led by Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker, and he’s got more baggage in his backstory than we’re even aware of.
The binge-worthy TV show is now almost at a close for another year, so here’s when to catch the next episode of NCIS Season 22 before you miss it.
NCIS Season 22 Episode 16 release date and time
NCIS Season 22 Episode 16, titled ‘Ladies Night,’ will air on CBS March 31, 2025 at 9pm ET (or 6pm PT).
There’s only two episodes left before Season 22 ends for good, but Episode 16 is going to be the last one we see for a while. Thanks to CBS’ March Madness schedule, there’s a two-week gap between Episodes 16 and 17, meaning we won’t get the finale until April 14, 2025.
In the meantime, there’s more drama to be had. The Episode 16 synopsis reads “A girls’ night out takes an unexpected turn when NCIS is called to investigate the motive of a possible arsonist; Torres struggles to find work/life balance.”

NCIS Season 22 Episode 16 runtime
While the exact runtime has yet to be confirmed, we can expect NCIS Season 22 Episode 16 to last for around 42 minutes.
CBSEssentially, we’re following the pattern the previous 15 episodes have reliably set out for us. After 22 seasons, NCIS isn’t exactly likely to change its format mid-way through a season years later.
If any episode is going to be longer, it’ll likely be the season finale. That’s Episode 17, if you’re not keeping track.
What will happen in NCIS Season 22 Episode 16?
Alongside what we already know from the trailer and synopsis, we’ll still have some aftermath from what happened in the previous episode. There will likely be more reactions and fallout around Parker’s family history, while we still don’t understand why Lily keeps appearing in Parker’s hallucinations.
CBSEven though we’ve worked out Lily is directly tied to how Parker’s mom died, there’s still multiple unanswered questions for why she’s even showing up at all. Parker’s mom was an alcoholic, dying in a catastrophic car crash after an argument caused her to run out of the house (and never come back, if you haven’t already guessed).
In Episode 15, Parker found out Lily was at the crime scene while doing some research. It’s speculated Lily could be Parker’s sister, which would also explain why MCRT’s new leader doesn’t like ships (Parker’s hallucinations started in a similar vessel, remember).
But why did she appear on a ship in the first place, and what significance does this have? We don’t know, and it goes without saying that this storyline is going to continue. Parker will likely dig even deeper into his past, properly cementing him as Gibbs’ replacement.
