Given this gang of A-Listers is almost always on a trip, it might surprise you that new Netflix series Four Seasons definitely wasn’t filmed where you think it was.
What do you get when you put Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Colman Domingo on screen together? A binge-worthy TV show you can’t afford to miss, that’s what! Four Seasons follows a decades-long friendship between three married couples that is tested when one divorces, complicating their tradition of quarterly weekend getaways.
It’s an adaptation of Alan Alda’s 1981 big-screen romantic comedy of the same name, and arguably one of the biggest new TV shows to hit the streaming service this month. At only eight episodes, you can easily watch it in one night.
Given our group of strung-out couples is almost constantly traveling, the filming locations behind the Four Seasons might be a surprise.
Netflix’s Four Seasons was almost entirely filmed in one state
Aside from Episodes 3 and 4, all of Four Seasons was filmed in New York. Ginny’s eco resort, seen in the two mentioned episodes, was actually based in Puerto Rico.

Let’s start from the beginning. Episodes 1 and 2 follow the trip to Nick and Anne’s house, which was actually filmed across multiple New York locations. If you think you recognize them, you can find the real-life places in Cold Spring, Newburgh, and Fishkill.
Then there’s Episodes 3 and 4, which we know is our fake eco resort actually in Puerto Rico.
Parents weekend in Episodes 5 and 6 was filmed at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. The final two episodes (7 and 8) were also filmed in the same area. Putnam and Dutchess counties are also featured.

“New York is a beautiful and magical state,” Fey told Netflix. “It’s a really, really beautiful place to get these four seasons.”
Interior scenes were most likely filmed in either Umbra Stages or GJW Studios. Filming lasted from September-December 2024.
Four Seasons shares a filming location with Severance
Between our multiple New York counties mentioned above lies the Hudson River Valley, which you’ll be able to see in the back of multiple shots. However, it’s not the only hit program this year to use it, given it’s also an iconic backdrop for Apple TV+’s Severance.

While the Four Seasons crew filmed around the area in October 2024, Severance first began filming there in 2021. Season 1 Episode 9 features the area’s iconic Beacon Dummy Light, with the Minnewaska State Park Preserve utilized in Season 2.
The second installment also features the tunnels from Cold Spring near Breakneck, with later use branching out to Ulster County (the Chinese restaurant, anyone?)
