New Netflix thriller series coming in March 2025 has an insane twist you have to see

As part of Netflix‘s March 2025 slate, there’s a new thriller miniseries heading to the streaming service, but it may be more stressful than you could ever imagine.
March is shaping up to be a great month for the platform. From new talk shows to some enticing true crime (not to mention the premiere of the sci-fi cautionary tale The Electric State), the streamer is offering up lots of fresh content.
But one series that might fly under the radar is one you definitely shouldn’t miss. Not just because it’s got a terrifyingly real plot, but also because it’s got a format you need to see to believe.
Thankfully, you won’t have long to wait.
Adolescence arrives on Netflix on March 13
Adolescence – starring Stephen Graham – is a four episode miniseries where each episode is shot in real-time, as one continuous take.
This format might sound familiar for those who saw Graham’s hair-raisingly stressful kitchen drama, Boiling Point. However, where Boiling Point was a cutting takedown of high-pressure kitchens, Adolescence is every parent’s worst nightmare.
The series follows a family torn apart when their 13-year-old son is accused of murdering a young girl in his class. As he falls under investigation, they begin to question who to trust and what really happened.
Graham, who co-wrote and created the series, said of the show, “One of our aims was to ask, ‘What is happening to our young men these days, and what are the pressures they face from their peers, from the internet, and from social media?’ And the pressures that come from all of those things are as difficult for kids here as they are the world over.”
The one-take nature of the show sets up the episodes as being unrelenting parts of the investigation. As an incredibly complicated feat to pull off, countless rehearsals and run-throughs were an essential part of preparation.

Director Philip Barantini explained, “Basically, that means we press record on the camera and we don’t press stop until the very end of the hour. But it’s much more complicated than it sounds.
“It takes months of preparation and weeks of rehearsals and an incredible team of people to pull it off at every stage, from the script to the locations to the production design to where exactly the camera is going to be able to shoot and from what angle.”
All four episodes of Adolescence will be available to stream on Netflix on March 13.
