The threequel was first announced back in 2015. Shooting took place in mid-2024, officially wrapping in November of the same year.

“We were so happy with the director’s cut, we’re already developing the next chapter,” Lionsgate‘s Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson said at CinemaCon. “We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

The full confirmed cast list looks something like this:

  • Isla Fisher as Henley Reeves
  • Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley
  • Justice Smith as Charlie
  • Dominic Sessa as Bosco

As we’ve touched on, Fisher did not reprise her original role in the 2016 sequel. Instead, Lizzy Caplan’s character joined the Four Horsemen group in her place. Caplan is also expected to reprise her role as Lula May in the third film.

Mark Ruffalo’s FBI agent-turned-magician Dylan Rhodes and Daniel Radcliffe are also expected to appear in the threequel. Michael Caine, who was in the first two movies, is the only cast member to be confirmed as not returning due to his retirement from acting.

Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Rosamund Pike, and Dominic Sessa are our brand-new faces this time around.

What will happen in Now You See Me 3?

As the official plot suggests, “The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film.”

The cast of Now You See Me

The plot details are still sparse, but we can expect a brand-new team of magicians to be leading the charge this time around. For unknown reasons, the Four Horsemen have become estranged in the years since we last saw them, and it’s up to Atlas to get them back together.

Why? So they can pull off the heist of the century, that’s why. Atlas wants to steal the Heart Diamond, hurting a family that has been selling them to warlords, drug dealers. Pike plays our antagonist, who is the target of said heist.

Now You See Me 3 trailer

Now You See Me 3’s official trailer dropped on April 29, 2025, which you can see below:

The same day, Now You See Me broadcast a countdown on TikTok – which we now know was for the trailer – in Times Square, New York. As well as the countdown, the sign read, “Text for magic: 315-669-8263.”

f you text the number now, nothing will happen. But those who texted it before the countdown finished found exactly $119.16 in their Venmo accounts (if they had one). The only reference was the word “Voila,” with a magic wand emoji.
