In the opening minutes of Season 2, Peacemaker discovered an incredible alternate dimension in the Quantum Unfolding Chamber. There, his father is nice, his brother is alive, and he has a romantic connection with Harcourt. Also, he didn’t murder Rick Flag Jr in that timeline.

What happened in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5?
HBO MaxBy the end of Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5, Chris abandoned his world and moved to the alternate dimension, parting ways with Harcourt, Adebayo, and co. to live out his dreams as a superhero.
This came after he had a heartbreaking conversation with Harcourt, where she made it clear she doesn’t have any other feelings for him (something tells me she’s not telling the truth, and probably resents her own romantic feelings given that Chris murdered her friend, Rick Flag Jr).

He was apprehended by A.R.G.U.S., beaten to a pulp by Rick Flag Sr (remember that knee to the face), and let go after Economos booked him. Feeling like he had nothing else to contribute to his own world (he wrote in a letter that he didn’t believe redemption was possible), he closed the door to the QUC… not realizing that Judomaster followed him in.
