Peacemaker fans have already worked out Season 2 Episode 7’s mystery cameo

Sasha Bordeaux, Rick Flag and a mystery figure in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 7

The trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 7 teases another significant cameo – and fans have already worked out who it (probably) is. Spoilers for Episode 6 to follow.

Episode 6 featured the show’s biggest cameo so far: Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, with Rick Flag trying to bargain with him so he’ll help to find Peacemaker in his alternate dimension (and setting up Man of Tomorrow in the process).

So, who else will appear? Now that we know Chris, Harcourt, and co. are effectively in ‘Earth X’ (a world where the Nazis won World War II), could we meet its version of Superman or other DC heroes? Will we get another Batman tease, like his silhouette in Creature Commandos?

Going by the trailer for Episode 7, the penultimate installment of the new season, we’ll see another character from Superman.

While Episode 7 deals with the fallout of the big Nazi twist in the alternate dimension, Rick Flag will also team up with… someone to find Chris.

We only see them from afar or obscured off-screen, and he asks Flag, “What’s my reason for helping you?”

So, who is it? Some people have speculated that it’ll be Paul Dano’s Riddler – and as much as I’m an advocate of Robert Pattinson’s Batman merging with the DCU, this goes beyond wishful thinking. He has no experience with dimensional portals, so why would Lex Luthor recommend him?

Sydney in Superman

The likeliest answer is Sydney Happersen, played by Stephen Blackehart, one of Lex’s top scientists and assistants who appeared throughout Superman. Given his role in tearing apart Metropolis (even though he kept telling Lex to stop), he could be an asset to Flag, and he probably knows how to work any of Lex’s tech.

If Lex has a device that could track dimensional portals, Sydney is probably one of the few people who could be trusted to operate it.

“The man with the mustache is Lex’s assistant. He was the gateway expert,” one viewer speculated. “The guy handcuffed is Stephen Blackheart for sure, but why have his face covered?” another asked.

Others have pointed out that it sounds more like David Corenswet, but here’s another possibility: what if the person saying, “What’s my reason for helping you?” is actually Corenswet as Overman?
