Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 release date & everything we know

A young boy leans forward to talk in Raising Kanan

As new episodes near their end, Kanan is involved in something much bigger than he is. The consequences will play out in Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8, but who comes out on top?

For those unfamiliar, Raising Kanan follows the early years of Kanan Stark in the 1990s, with his family known for their successful drug business he desperately wants to be a part of.

In the original 2014 series Power, the same character was played by 50 Cent, who now serves as executive producer of the new TV show.

While you don’t have to worry about Season 4 ending – a fifth season has already been greenlit – the drama is now more intense than ever. Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 is about to deliver some harsh home truths, so here’s when to catch it.

When is the next episode of Raising Kanan?

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8, titled ‘Truth of the Matter’, airs May 2, 2025, on Starz at 8pm ET.

A woman and two men look over their shoulder in Raising Kanan

All Season 4 episodes so far have been between 50-55 minutes, and there’s no reason for anything to change during the home stretch.

If any episode of Raising Kanan Season 4 is going to be significantly longer, it will be the season finale – which is Episode 22, for those not keeping up.

What will happen in Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8?

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 is about to hit Kanan like a truck, putting two and two together that Raq was the person responsible for Fame’s death. She’s got her eye on “getting back in the big leagues,” but at what cost?

While Raq’s set on “changing the game all over again,” her enemies are set to “make her pay.” A gun is seen shooting out the windows of a car in the final trailer shot, but we don’t know who is shooting… or if anyone is left alive in the car.

“Dang man. Kanan is about to be so lost and confused about everything,” one YouTube comment replied. “Crazy to say but I think he’s going to team up with Unique in the end because he’s assuming Raq had something to do with Famous, and I think Snap and Pops going to get him to side with Unique with what’s all going on. Marvin definitely made a deal with the dirty cops. Once Juke said whoever killed Famous was from the street and made a deal with the cops it all made sense.”

A second weighed in, “Raq is what Ghost would have been if he embraced the full evil of the game. She will kill Nique when it’s time. However, just like Ghost, her lies will catch up to her. She didn’t kill Famous.”

But is Kanan actually jumping to conclusions, or are his instincts right?
