Sugar, spice, and everything nice. These were the ingredients chosen to make a hit animated series, and now, the Powerpuff Girls are making their grand return with a regular slot on Cartoon Network.
There’s been a lot for Powerpuff fans to chew on over the past few weeks. The trailer for the now-scrapped live-action CW adaptation was finally revealed, giving a glimpse into what could have been.
The new TV show would have focused on the girl’s – Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup’s – lives as they grew up under the pressure of being superheroes in Townsville. But, for better or worse, it never made it past the pilot.
However, the series is getting new life after all, and it’ll be returning to its original home very soon.
Powerpuff Girls is coming back to Cartoon Network on April 12
The Powerpuff Girls will be returning to a regular Cartoon Network slot from April 12, joining the Saturday morning lineup alongside Teen Titans Go!, Iyanu, and Steven Universe.
- 9am – Teen Titans Go!
- 9.30am – Iyanu
- 10am – Steven Universe
- 10.30am – The Powerpuff Girls

Right now, the original series can be streamed on Max, but will be taken off the streaming service on April 2. So there’s no better time for it to return to its original network.
The last time The Powerpuff Girls aired on Cartoon Network was in 2023, but it was a temporary stint to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
However, this return looks to be more permanent, and the last time the show was airing regularly on the channel was back in 2014, when its final episode aired.
What’s more, it’ll be the original series, rather than the critically-panned 2016 reboot.
