Samuel L. Jackson to star in Tulsa King spinoff NOLA King

Sylvester Stallone and Samuel L. Jackson share a drink.

Samuel L. Jackson is headlining his first TV show, playing the lead in a Tulsa King spinoff called NOLA King.

Samual L. Jackson’s movies have made more money than almost anyone in history, largely thanks to his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he plays Nick Fury.

That character also popped up in TV shows like Secret Invasion and What If…?, but aside from that, Jackson has mostly focused on movies rather than the small screen.

That’s about to change, however, so here’s what we know about forthcoming show NOLA King, which is being produced by Taylor Sheridan, and executive produced by Tulsa King star Sylvester Stallone.

NOLA King sees Samuel L. Jackson’s character Russell Lee Washington Jr. trying to duplicate what Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi achieved in Tulsa, back in his hometown of New Orleans.

Here’s the official synopsis: “NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi during a 10-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York’s Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all.

“Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned 40 years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and friends, and to take control of the city he left behind.

“In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.”

How Tulsa King sets up the new show

Russell Lee Washington Jr. will be introduced in Season 3 of Tulsa King, which drops on Paramount+ in September.
