The Single’s Inferno crew have been listening to your feedback and taking it on board. Not only is Season 5 coming soon, but the creators are determined to fix the biggest complaint about the Netflix show.

If you’ve been missing Single’s Inferno since the Season 4 finale earlier this year, chances are you tuned into Better Late Than Single, a new dating show for singletons who’ve never dated before.

It’s a unique premise, with Netflix renewing it for a second season last month. There may be a while to wait before we see new episodes, but in the meantime, we’ve got Single’s Inferno Season 5 to look forward to.

Some of the complaints that emerged from the fourth chapter related to the cast’s fame, but as it reached its finale, the focus shifted to screentime and whether or not it was balanced between the cast members

This is something the creators are going to address in Season 5, while also diversifying the cast and introducing different personalities to the island.

At the Netflix Entertainment Festival 2025 in Seoul this month, producer Kim Jae-won explained that the Season 4 survival challenge – where one male contestant was chosen out of a lineup of three – was a misstep.

“Viewers strongly criticized it, asking, ‘Why eliminate them? Can’t they all just participate together?’ So for this season, we decided to go bigger – there are more contestants than ever before,” he said (via Naver).

“With more contestants, naturally the characters became more diverse. More importantly, the love lines [romantic pairings] are no longer concentrated on just a few people, but spread out in a much wider variety.”

As said, in the previous chapter of the Netflix series, some viewers felt that Lee Si-an and Yuk Jun-seo got most of the screentime, meaning other pairings like Kim Tae-hwan and Bae Ji-yeon fell by the wayside.

Even though there will be more balance in Season 5, Jae-won has promised that there will be breakout stars and some strong female energy this time round.

“I think I got criticized last year for hyping things up too much, but this season really feels like it will be a battle of the ‘femme fatales,’” he continued. “There are more female contestants than ever with stylish, fascinating personalities.”

He’s so confident in the next season, in fact, that he believes Single’s Inferno could keep going for years to come, stating, “Our original goal was to reach Season 10, but while editing this season, it feels like we could even go to Season 20.”

Just in case you weren’t hyped enough, Single’s Inferno Season 5 now has a release window: January 2026. Get it in the diary, folks.
