The Hunting Party Episode 7 has just dropped, and we finally know what happened with Silo 12. But if you think that was deep, you haven’t even seen “scary” yet.
If you haven’t heard of this binge-worthy TV show, you need to get into it. The Hunting Party follows a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down the most dangerous killers in the US. The catch? They’ve all just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.
Think of true crime with a twist, with the serial killer brought in to be profiled originally considered to be dead (don’t worry, he’s not). Seven episodes later, this led to an investigation of the silo that was breached before the blast at the Pit. Bodies are everywhere, and it seems as though inmates were used as experiments.
It was a chilling watch, but it doesn’t seem to have anything on what’s left to come in the TV show… particularly Episode 9.
The Hunting Party Episode 7 makes way for “scary” Episode 9
Now the mystery of Silo 12 has been cleared up, showrunner Jake Coburn teased the plot has made way for the “scariest” episode of them all – Episode 9.
“Episode 7 I think is lighter, right?” he explained to TV Insider. “You know what I mean? We have a variety of tones in the first season and for Episode 4 with Malak, it’s kind of darker, scarier.
“I would say [Episode] 9 is the scariest, and I think it was probably one of the hardest to make. And it was kind of the dark night before the finale. I cannot tell you who will be in danger.”

We’ve got 10 episodes in total, and it’s clear our cast’s lives could hang in the balance. All Coburn will directly say about the final few episodes is that they’re “heart-pounding,” not officially ruling out killing anybody off.
“So [Episodes] 7, 8, 9, 10 are going to answer a lot of questions and hopefully in a satisfying way,” he added.

We’re still digging into what actually happened at Silo 12 before the explosion, which “was not particularly ethical and it was probably needed to be kept in the shadows.”
It’s likely this plot still links into our scarier plot to come, with answers being teased out over the remainder of the series… and possibly even further. While Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed, storylines are already brewing.
“I would just say we go big. We’re not saving anything,” Coburn confirmed. We’re trying to really deliver the best possible story we can with the most interesting and exciting twists possible. I’m excited for people to see it because I’m hoping that they will be surprised and satisfied and wanting more because we are going to learn a bunch of things in the finale that I think you would be very surprised by.”
