The Way Home fans need to watch this Hallmark series before Season 4

Kat, Elliot, Del, and Sam in The Way Home Season 3

Can’t wait until The Way Home Season 4 hits the small screen in 2026? The Hallmark+ has the perfect series to binge in the meantime.

It’s been three days since The Way Home Season 3 finale aired as of writing, and our heads are still spinning from getting so many answers. Casey isn’t Alice’s child, Elliot is the baby left there by his mom (one half of the mystery couple), and Colton knew the full truth about his family before he died.

However, it wasn’t completely full of solutions. We still don’t properly know who Casey is, Sam is hiding something huge from Del, and Jacob has disappeared once again.

Annoyingly, we’ve got at least 10 months to wait until the now-confirmed Season 4 heads to the Hallmark Channel. If you can’t hack the wait but have already binged The Way Home Seasons 1-3, you need to check out this unhinged series.

The Chicken Sisters fills The Way Home Season 4 void

Presenting to you: The Chicken Sisters. As brilliant in nature as it is in name, the same chaotic family dynamics are at play here… just in a chicken shop and not a magical time-traveling pond.

The cast of The Chicken Sisters

Here’s the official synopsis. “Sisters Amanda and Mae are reunited when reality show ‘Kitchen Clash’ comes to their town, and the competition between their two feuding restaurants heats up.”

Based on 2020 novel by KJ Dell’Antonia, the new TV show hit the Hallmark Channel in 2024. There’s good news, too – Season 2 is on its way later this year. Catch up now, and you’ll be ahead of the game.

We’ve already seen Mimi and Frannie pinned against each other on the fake reality TV show, essentially aiming to find out who makes the best fried chicken in the area (obviously). They’ve split the family in two, with Nancy, Amanda, and Frank from Mimi’s on one side and Gus and Mae from Frannie’s on the other.

Heading into Season 2, which is set to film between April and July this year, we’ve got three huge storylines to consider: Gus’ multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Sabrina’s conflict about leaving her home in New York to pursue romance, and Amanda’s strained relationship with her mother.

If you’re not quite sold on the binge-worthy TV show, don’t just take my word for it. The Way Home fans are recommending it themselves, posting on Facebook, “For those asking for series recommendations while we dry off from our time spent in the pond, I highly recommend the series The Chicken Sisters. It is not about time traveling, however the core storyline is the same as TWH – 4 women trying their best to heal relationships and create new relationships.”

“The Chicken Sisters is really good,” a second weighed in, with a third agreeing, “I am excited for this show, I can’t wait.”

While Season 1 is already available on Hallmark+, the series will be airing from scratch on The Hallmark Channel from March 30 at 9PM ET.

The Way Home Season 3 is now available on Hallmark+. Catch up with theories about Sam’s identity, why Colton couldn’t be brought back to life, as well as the best Hallmark movies and best Hallmark TV shows of all time.
