The Way Home Season 4 looks more likely than ever as petition puts pressure on Hallmark

Come on, Hallmark… give the people what they want. Efforts to get The Way Home Season 4 have been ramped up, and it’s all thanks to one fan petition.

Next week marks the end of The Way Home Season 3, and we’ve still got no idea if Season 4 will happen or not. Storyline wise, it makes complete sense to have more seasons in the pipeline. However, the reality isn’t as positive.

Viewership for The Way Home has taken a dive this year, with the binge-worthy TV show now struggling to get an average of more than 600,000. Add to this the fact that all previous seasons had been renewed by the eighth episode of the one before it, and things don’t look great.

But could this all be about to change? Fans are rallying for Hallmark to commission The Way Home Season 4 with a petition that is blowing up the internet.

This time last week, ‘Encourage Hallmark Channel to Renew The Way Home for Season 4’ had around 550 signatures. Now, it’s hurtling toward the 5,000 mark after gaining plenty of traction over the last seven days.

Clearly, fans are starting to feel more worried their favorite show won’t be coming back, and they’ve got good reason to be concerned. The Season 2 finale pulled in 1.74 million viewers, with early Season 3 episodes sitting around 800,000. We’ve only decreased from there, while Hallmark’s other show When Calls the Heart is retaining 1.2 million viewers in its 12th season.

The cast is as in the dark as fans are as of writing. As star Jordan Doww posted on TikTok, “We are all dying to know as well. But if we do get the green light… I’ll be back.”

Hallmark has yet to confirm if The Way Home has been renewed or canceled, but the pressure’s now on for them to make a decision. As the petition puts it, “By renewing The Way Home for Season 4, Hallmark would not only be satisfying its loyal fan base, but also perpetuating quality TV. Let’s show Hallmark Channel the fervent support for this show. Please sign this petition and help us advocate for the renewal of The Way Home for a fourth season.”

With two episodes to go, The Way Home Season 3 still has a lot to answer for. We don’t know who the baby is, who the couple is jumping into the pond, or Casey’s true identity. The likelihood of the show tying up all its loose ends in that time is slim, but this doesn’t automatically mean fans will get what they’re hoping for. As is much the case in Port Haven, time will tell.
